Who we are

Yorkshire Autotech is an auto electrical specialist based at Canal Road, Bingley, West Yorkshire, BD16 2SR. We are responsible for the personal information you give us through this website. What we collect

When you send an enquiry or request a booking, we collect:

• your name, phone number and email address
• your vehicle's make, model and year
• the services you are interested in, your chosen date and time, and any notes or messages you send us

If you contact us on WhatsApp, by phone or by email, we will also have the details and messages you send us that way.

How we use it

• to reply to your enquiry and give you a quote
• to arrange, confirm, change or cancel your appointment
• to carry out the work on your vehicle and deal with any warranty questions afterwards
• to keep the business records we are required to keep by law, such as for tax and accounting

We use your information because it is needed to respond to your request and provide the service you ask for, because of our legitimate interest in running the business, and to meet our legal obligations. We do not sell your information and we do not send marketing messages.

Who we share it with

We only share your information with the services we use to run this website and our bookings:

• Google Firebase — stores booking requests securely
• FormSubmit — forwards enquiry and booking notifications to our email inbox
• Microsoft Outlook — our business email
• WhatsApp (Meta) — only if you choose to message us there
• Cloudflare — hosts this website

Some of these providers may process information outside the UK. Where they do, they use legal safeguards approved under UK data protection law. We may also share information if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

If you do not go ahead with a booking, we delete your enquiry details within 12 months. If we carry out work for you, we keep the booking and job records for up to 6 years, as required for tax and accounting purposes.

Cookies and storage on your device

This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Your basket is saved in your own browser (local storage) so it is still there if you refresh the page — it is not sent to us until you request a booking. Our fonts are loaded from Google Fonts and our gallery photos from Cloudinary, which means those services see your device's IP address when they deliver them.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

• give you a copy of the information we hold about you
• correct anything that is wrong
• delete your information, unless we have to keep it by law
• restrict or stop using your information, or transfer it to someone else

Just contact us using the details above — there is no charge and we will reply within one month.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
